The Refund Process
1. General Refund Policy & 14-Day Guarantee
MoniNotes is committed to providing a high-quality experience for our users. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for all initial subscription purchases. If you are not completely satisfied with our service within the first fourteen (14) days of your original purchase, you are eligible to receive a full refund. After this 14-day period, we do not accept or process any refund requests for initial purchases.
2. Merchant of Record and Payment Processing
Our order process is securely handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record and payment provider. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record (MoR) for all MoniNotes transactions. This means Paddle handles all payment processing, tax compliance, and returns. Consequently, all refunds are subject to Paddle's risk management systems and are processed in accordance with Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms and Conditions.
3. Cancellation and Refund
We require our users to distinguish clearly between canceling a subscription and receiving a refund. Canceling your subscription ensures that you will not be billed for the upcoming renewal cycle. However, cancellation does not automatically trigger a refund for the current billing period.
4. Subscription Billing Terms & Refund Eligibility
As Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record, they retain the ultimate authority and final discretion over all refund requests. However, to maintain fairness, prevent abuse, and comply with standard Saas billing practices, please be aware that refund requests are generally not eligible for approval under the following billing scenarios:
- Subscription Renewals: All subscriptions renew automatically. It is the user's responsibility to cancel the subscription prior to the renewal date. We do not provide refunds for automated renewal charges if you fail to cancel in time.
- Free Trial Conversions: If you enroll in a Free Trial, you must cancel before the trial period expires to avoid being charged. Charges incurred due to a failure to cancel a Free Trial are strictly non-refundable.
- Prorated Refunds: We do not offer partial or prorated refunds for mid-cycle cancellations. If you cancel an annual or monthly plan early, you will simply retain access for the remainder of that paid cycle.
- Technical Issues: Minor bugs, sync delays, or temporary service outages do not constitute grounds for a refund. Refund requests based on technical issues will only be considered if the software is entirely inoperable and our support team is fundamentally unable to provide a resolution.
- Policy Abuse & Terms of Service Violations: We reserve the right to deny any refund request if we detect fraudulent activity, abuse of this policy (e.g., repeated refund requests from the same user), or if your account has been suspended or terminated due to a violation of our Terms of Service.
5. Post-Refund Account Status
Please note that immediately upon the approval and processing of your refund by Paddle, all premium access rights will be revoked. Your account will be downgraded to the Free plan, and access to premium-tier data or features will be locked or permanently restricted.
6. Dispute Resolution and Chargebacks
We are dedicated to providing VIP-level customer support. Before initiating any formal dispute or chargeback with your bank or credit card provider, we strongly urge you to contact our support team directly at [email protected]. Initiating an unwarranted chargeback negatively impacts both parties, and we are committed to resolving your billing inquiries fairly and efficiently through direct communication.
7. How to Request a Refund
To formally request a refund within the eligible 14-day window, please use the refund feature available in the MoniNotes web application or contact our support team at [email protected]. To expedite your request, you must email us from your registered account address and include the following details:
- Your Paddle Order ID or Receipt Number.
- A brief explanation of your reason for the refund to help us improve our product.
- Or you can directly request a refund through paddle.net
8. Processing Time
Once your request is received, our team will coordinate with Paddle to process it. Upon approval, please allow 5 to 10 business days for the funds to reflect on your credit card statement or bank account, depending entirely on your financial institution's processing times.
